


Reverend Harold L. Brown, Sr. (Pastor). Reverend Brown was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He truly accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour in 1985. Receiving his call to the ministry on December 27, 1986 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Rectortown, Virginia, at a funeral.
While attending Greenbrier Baptist Church (Arlington, VA) Reverend Brown asked to be baptized again after recognizing his calling. He continued to serve faithfully at Greenbrier and received his License to preach the gospel in 1988. That same year he was also ordained a Deacon. While at Greenbrier he was blessed to be an assistant Sunday school teacher.
A few years later he moved his membership to Beulah Baptist Church, Markham, Virginia where he assisted his pastor, Reverend Douglas Gore. While at Beulah he formed the Beulah Male Chorus with the permission of the pastor.
In April 1994 Reverend Brown was called to preach at Guilfield Baptist Church, Millwood, Virginia. In September of the same year he was asked to become the Pastor at Guilfield. Reverend Brown was ordained by the Second National Ketocton Baptist Association in July 1995. In 2006 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Second Guilfield Biblical Institute. He served as pastor of Guilfield for 18 years (August 2013).
Reverend Brown was called to Pastor the Mount Vernon Baptist Church and was named PastorĀ Elect on July 26, 2013. He was installed as the sixth pastor of Mount Vernon on October 7, 2013. He is a God fearing, Bible reading, Bible preaching man that is being used at Mount Vernon in a ministerial capacity with God leading, guiding and directing his pathway.
Reverend Brown and his wife, Judy, have been married over 50 years, and have six grown children.
